Quite busy in the early evening, with the chip wagon doing as much business as the bar. 16 casks were set up on the stillage for the weekend.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - Trinity3.00ExcellentI don’t recall drinking this on gravity dispense before. Even more excellent than usual.
Wild Card - Queen of Diamonds5.10GoodA fruity, amber-coloured IPA. Slightly let down by flat condition off the stillage.

The brewery is now operational here in Walthamstow and a second beer – Wild Card IPA – has been brewed. But a busy day means that the home-brewed beer is sold out by the time we get here in the evening. Three cask beers on gravity and a chip-van pulled up outside ensures we stay anyway.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Fields - Black Path Porter4.20ExcellentVery chocolaty, black Porter.
Elephant School (sub-brand of Brentwood) - Aussie Blonde4.00ExcellentSharp, golden, hoppy. (Elephant School continue to brew at Brentwood Brewery for the time being).
Elephant School (sub-brand of Brentwood) - Jester Pils4.70AcceptableHazy, soft.

Lunchtime, and a few intrepid visitors are finding their way here to sample the Wild Card beer (still brewing just the one beer at present, but with plans for a Pale Ale) and to sit by the wood-burning stove. Unfortunately there have been some problems with the electricity supply, so beer brewed on-site is still not quite available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wild Card - Jack of Clubs4.50GoodA very fruity, ruby red-coloured bitter. Served on gravity dispense.

The pub is found in Walthamstow, Greater London, E17 9HQ.

Wild Card Brewery was established in around March 2013, brewing initially on the brew-plant at Brentwood Brewery in Essex. February 2014 saw the development of its own premises on an industrial estate off Shernhall Street, Walthamstow, after earlier plans to brew in the cellar of the Warrant Officer pub had fallen through. A small bar has been developed on site and opens to the public on Fridays to Sundays. In early 2018, all brewing moved to a much larger site elsewhere in Walthamstow, but this premises continues as the Brewery Tap. Ceased trading October 2024.

We have visited this pub 13 times, seen 26 different beers and tried 19 of them.
