Eerily quiet.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Humpty Dumpty - Little Sharpie3.80ExcellentFull on flavour, nice malts and some citrus hoppiness. Good balance and body. Delightfully fresh.
Winter's - Storm Force5.30AcceptableFull of fruit but a little dull and jaded. It seems that whenever I try Winter's beers, they aren't on good form. Will have to try again.
05 Jun 2011 (Bear & Ragged Staff)
Very quiet for a Sunday evening. Pleasant to sit outside in the warmth of the setting sun.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Woodforde's - Pincer Pale Crabster Ale4.10GoodThis ale was brewed to celebrate the first Cromer & Sheringham crab and lobster festival in 2010 and was apparently so popular that it has reappeared this year. A typical Woodforde's ale but with a little more zest and a little less malty sweetness. Maybe its me but it doesn't taste quite as good as last years brew. Nevertheless good.
04 Jun 2011 (Bear & Ragged Staff)
Busy Saturday evening, getting quieter as the evening drew on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Humpty Dumpty - Little Sharpie3.80AcceptableI know this is an award winning ale and I also know it to be a fresh, hoppy session ale. This was not on form and the tastes seem to be a little dull.
Woodforde's - Once Bittern4.10AcceptableIn my opinion, not one of the best ales from the otherwise excellent Woodforde's portfolio. A little malty, a little fruity and a little dry.
Winter's - On The Beer City4.40PoorBrewed to celebrate Norwich City's promotion to the premiership. I hope they do better than this beer. Malty and sweet. Simply awful.
03 Jun 2011 (Bear & Ragged Staff)
Norfolk village pub offering up to five real ales. This evening appears to be busy in the bar and the dining room, however locals tell me that it is quieter on week days.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Panther - Red Panther4.10GoodA deep ruby red ale with a nutty flavour and bitter aftertaste. Nicely balanced and smooth.
Humpty Dumpty - Norfolk Nectar4.60GoodAs honey beers go, this was OK. Tastes seem a bit confused - hops, honey and vanilla?? It was smooth and had reasonable body.
Spectrum - Bezants Bitter4.00AcceptableNon typical East Anglian ale, light on malt and hops, I would even say slightly sweet. Not for me I'm afraid.
Grain - Harvest Moon4.50AcceptableI have had this beer before and know that it is light and crisp, mildly bitter and a hint of citrus. This pint seemed a little dull on the palate.

This pub is well on the way with its refurbishment on the inside and out. The meal I had in the evening was very enjoyable and the atmosphere convivial with a friendly new publican.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Woodforde's - Wherry3.80ExceptionalSmooth, malty and well rounded beer. It went down very well.
Yetman's - Yellow3.50GoodThis was a lighter beer than Woofordes Wherry and sharper but pleasant nonetheless
Humpty Dumpty - Swallowtail4.00GoodVery similar to Yetman's, light and crisp
