Opening night and very much still work in progress, I had met the landlord Gary once before when he was serving at the Bake and Ale House at Westgate. This pub is a true micropub.

The pub is found in Sandgate, Kent, CT20 3BY.
Micropub opened on 28 August 2015 in Sandgate High Street, it consists of a single room with small bar counter and beers served by gravity from an adjacent cold room. Note the door in the ceiling. Four Candles's beers are almost always on, as the landlord often goes and brews there. Closed in June 2023 with rumours it might be taken over by Docker Brewery as a keg only taproom. Re-opened run by Docker Brewery with new name on Tuesday 18th July 2023, and principally as a keg house selling its own beer.
