Afternoon visit and a good friendly atmosphere, I sat with the guv from Made Inn who was having his afternoon break in here. I was told that Stag Brewery beers should be back here in early September.
Jennings - Cumberland Ale4.00ExcellentA nice refreshing traditional pint, well two pints actually.

Hottest day of the year so far with temperatures in the 90sF so the lunchtime diners were staying away. A good welcome from Sue and Neil.
Stag - Jane Doe4.00ExcellentLast out of one cask and first out of another. Both superb.

As Mr. Pirrip would say, Afternoon until close. However in fairness the pub was shutting at 6pm today to avoid having to deal with World Cup Football Fans, although a few who had no interest in the game were staying for a bit of a lock in. The manager was pleased that he had been given full marks in a Cask Marque assessment.

Sunday afternoon on a very hot day, I did not think that I could cope with one of their superb Sunday roasts so I settled for a sandwich instead.

I don't come here very often. The pub has changed since I used to drink Miller Lite here in the early 90's but enough of the old pub was there to feel at home.
Stag - Jane Doe4.00AcceptableWell served but too chocolatey for me really

Mid evening fairly busy with a few other groups dotted about. Our final venue for the evening.
Stag - Jane Doe4.00GoodRather bitter for my palate

Evening visit, a darts match was in progress in the right hand bar whilst diners were enjoying their meals in the restaurant area.
Stag - Jane Doe4.00Good

Bank Holiday afternoon, a fair number of people were in the garden enjoying the unexpected sunshine.
Stag - Roe Buck3.80ExcellentThis was a dark chocolate beer that was absolutely superb. The brewery's web site lists Rambling Roebuck as a 3.8% light English Bitter but this was as dark as you can get so I wonder whether we were given Knock-need Porter 6% by mistake. I am not complaining of course.

Evening visit, I had a good chat with Neil who told me that Stag Brewery Jane Doe is likely to become the house beer but the pump clip will show provenance.
Stag - Screaming Sika5.00ExceptionalTruly superb, I would have had a second one if it was not for the fact that last orders had been called.
