Very quiet on a Saturday afternoon but picked up a bit while I was there.

I'd worked the weekend, so I had some time off during the week. A Ratebeer friend was over from Norway so I too the opportunity to hit some pubs on my cycle. Got off at Waterloo East and 5 mins later, I was here. Mid afternoon, bright sunshine, the Best of REM on the jukebox and 5 good beers. I really do like this pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arundel - Stronghold4.70ExcellentTasty ESB. Lots of choc and tasty fruity malt. Some peppery hop. Man, that's a good beer, some dry malt runs through it. Some sherbert hop on end. I mostly like Arundel beers and this is another good one.

Friday mid afternoon and the lunchtime rush had died down. I've seen this pub many times, but never been in, so I thought that I would give it a go. Especially as I've seen that it has 6 handpumps on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - East Green4.00GoodGold thin white head. First carbon neutral beer. Decent blond summer citrus hoppy beer in good nick. Sherberty hop has some kick, tangerine on aroma. Flavours dance agiley over the tongue. Not hugely complex, but good.
Nethergate (was Nethergate Growler for a while then name reverted) - Golden Gate4.50AcceptableDeep copper, thin beige head. Yeasty aroma. Some fruity malt and more yeast in mouth. Fine in mouth. Malts come through well. Yeast gives it character. Drying hop/malt/yeast balanced finish. A yeasty best bitter that ticks all the boxes. Bit of jellied orange there too. Fine.
