Sunday afternoon and fairly busy. The darts board was well used as usual which made me wonder whether charging £6 per hour for an automatic darts scorer is the way forward in promoting pub darts. In spite of the excellent beer quality I left when those watching football began to get a bit loud.

I had just had lunch next door in Macknade and decided to pop in here for a quick pint. Not too busy or noisy today.

Noisy with football on the television screens, but then this is a sports bar.

Absolutely full, standing room only. I got a good welcome from the guv and was served immediately. The darts board and pool table were in use but I am not certain about whether the shuffleboard was being played.

Afternoon visit. A good welcome from the guv who informed me that he has beers from Old Dairy on orrder plus a couple of casks of Green Hop from Boutilliers. Something to look forward to.

Mid to late afternoon quiet when we arrived just a handful in however much busier upon departure. Good to see yet another non mainstream OD cask beer available.

Mid afternoon until close, our group had a table booked which was essential today for the England vs Ukraine Euro 2020 quarter final which, for the record, we won 4-0! Acceptably busy for the occasion with bouncers on the door preventing folk without reservations from entering, and a minor police presence on departure which wasn't necessary as all were in good spirits and well behaved.

Lunchtime visit on a Saturday, the majority of staff were playing darts so it took a while to get served. The sound on the television screens was muted so it would have been peace and quiet if it were not for a group of ladies with some very noisy infants. To be fair the staff did have words with the mothers. This bar has only been open for a couple of days so I was surprised to see that the council have been able to award a five star food hygiene award already. I was very pleased to see cask ale available here, early reports are that it is selling well, lets hope that it continues to do so.
