Many more in the garden than there were inside on this warm day when I visited with my wife and 2 friends for our lunchtime get together. The meal was as good value as ever.

Quite quiet when I arrived with my wife and friends for our usual lunchtime meal, but the restaurant inside soon filled up. The meal was good and the service efficient.

Visited this pub for the first time with my wife and 2 friends and had a really enjoyable lunchtime meal. The pub had a number of others eating the fare on offer, indoors, with a few drinkers outside. The landlady was friendly and welcoming.

Used to be one of my favourite pubs. I came here a lot from 1993-1998. More lighting than before when new customers would regularly bump into tables. Only has 3 handpumps now and huge big screen for sporting events in the outside courtyard. Does do Estrella Damm, (Spanish lager) in bottle. Monthly guest beer. I do miss how it was when I first came when I worked at Brake Bros in the middle 90s and then I used to bring girlfriends here to. Mexican food menu hasn't changed much.

Hop Back - Summer Lightning5.00AcceptableJust no condition on this at all. No carbonation in mouth. Lacks aroma. Some kick in the mouth. Bit uncultured. Some grassy hop.

It has been years since I have been here but 10 years ago this was a regular haunt. Still nice inside with original beams and cosy dark seating. Large garden now featuress a bouncy castle and a water feature. Upto 3 beers on. Quite busy for an early Thursday evening. Mexican food looked good
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hop Back - Summer Lightning5.00AcceptableApart from the white bits floating in it, this tasted absolutely fine, almost tasting like its old self. Golden with elderflower hop and dusty aromas, citric fruit and it certainly does not drink its strength. Shame that the pub is not quite how I remember it 10 years ago
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%)3.40Not TriedIs this beer in every pub I go to?
