We had a pint before catching the ferry, and another one upon our return. A really nice place to relax and enjoy a drink in comfort.

A wet Sunday evening, and there were not many people about. This was a very comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a few pints before catching the train to Ebbsfleet. We would probably have stayed longer if it were not for the fact that the pub closes at 9pm on Sundays.

I could have happily stayed here longer, this place definitely puts Gravesend on the map for the beer drinker. It was reasonably busy, service was good, and there were a fair number of people eating.

Situated close to the landing stage for the Tilbury - Gravesend Ferry, and is also handy for the railway station. There is a rather fine large Russell's Gravesend Brewery etched window on the side alley, unfortunately half of which is now transfer rather than original. Open view kitchen at the rear. 8 handpumps furnish the bar counter.

We have visited this pub 27 times, seen 76 different beers and tried 39 of them.
