Early afternoon, I popped in for a pint after having spent a few hours travelling around on vintage buses. The pub was fairly quiet until people started turning up for a meeting of Railfuture.

Evening. Just before arrival of the customary gratis warm buffet. This week fish fingers, chips and slices of buttered white bread. Don't scoff at this basic staple - just scoff it as I did.

Evening late. Got more iron from 3 bowls of Guv Jim's liver and mash gratis buffet than sucking a magnet for a month. Pity he skimped on the fava beans and chianti.

Evening. A gratis warm buffet of haggis, mash, baked beans and neeps filled two bowls before the Guv Jim said that any more noshed would deprive him of his breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next few days.

Mid evening until late. Superb to see Guv Jim back at the helm. A lot of beer swilling going on here with a party from another pub in situ. Copious hot and cold and very appetising bar snacks gratis tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Ian said he couldn't face another Sheps beer. The Elephant was quite busy but we found a stool by a wall. We had to rush as our train was off soon.
