1800 visit. Met fellow scribe Pedro here to begin a LocAle crawl. Good range on tonite. Friendly staff, very attentive and I booked 3 Xmas Day lunches to boot too!

This wonderful old pub, last in the gbg in 2009, and now with new tenants, a new menu and a different entertainment outlook, is, alas, still, just a GK tied pub? ie; No interesting ales on?

The pub is found in Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1PP.

In Earl Street, entering through the front door there is a room at the front with the bar to the right serving 6 handpumps then a couple of rooms off to the left and at the back. Interesting lights about the bar. Popular with musicians and bikers. Was a Hogshead for a while before reverting to its original name.

We have visited this pub 65 times, seen 77 different beers and tried 54 of them.
