A very hot Sunday afternoon, the air handling system in here was working perfectly and it was a pleasure to sit in here and talk to knowledgeable bar staff about beer.

Early evening and fairly quiet, our group's arrival easily doubled the amount of customers. Only one cask beer on offer compared to a sea of keg varieties which was disappointing.

I was eagerly anticipating my first visit here only to find it closed. Disappointed hence we decided to pop in The Swan around the corner.

I had arranged to meet Jason (aka Magnus) here at around 4.30pm as their web site stated that the pub opens at 4pm on Tuesdays. We waited for some time but there was no sign of life inside so we eventually moved on to the Swan. I found out the following morning that there was a mention on Twitter that they would not be open this Tuesday but as neither of us do Twitter we (and a fair number of other prospective customers) were not aware of that.

Two of us arrived for the grand opening at 4pm. The CAMRA discount button on the till did not work so we gladly accepted two pints for the price of one. The pub soon got very busy which is only to be expected on opening night.

Originally Hop Stuff Brewery's third Tap Room, in Bank Street, opened on 11 May 2018 and its first outside of London. Closed after the demise of Hop Stuff Brewery and reopened 6 May 2022 under the stewardship of Boutilliers Brewery. Low Key is a sub brand of Boutilliers.
