My first visit here, a welcome addition to the Thanet Loop pub crawl and a true micropub. I enjoyed this visit and stopped a little longer than originally intended. A new edition of the Thanet Loop Pub Guide should be out this summer.

The pub is found in Ramsgate, Kent, CT12 6SG.

Micropub in Margate Road, a long time in the planning, in the Northwood area of the town near to the Hare & Hounds pub, which had been on the cards since summer 2015. Conversion from offices, planning permission refused. Re-application in early 2016 resulted in permission granted but without the previously applied for drinking area in the front forecourt. Opened Thursday 21st April 2016. Cask ales and ciders served on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled stillage cabinet behind an L-shaped bar counter. The NauticAles beer sold here is brewed at Four Candles Brewery at St Peter's. Closed mid-July 2022 - there is talk of someone else taking it over (last said January 2023). Re-opened Saturday 17th June 2023 with new owners and a new name. Now serving cask ales through 3 handpumps on bar counter and from casks on gravity dispense in a rear chilled cabinet.

We have visited this pub 31 times, seen 41 different beers and tried 34 of them.
