After a few days when the pub was closed for a makeover, we return to a freshly painted and more modern feel. 5 beers on. Pub is still full of character.

5 beets on but the pump serving my beer needed repairing. Toomany pulls spoilt the beer.

Late afternoon busy around the bar though 3 seats were available at the corner side so purloined those while the effervescent friendly barmaid found time to chat to us between orders.

A small corner pub on a hill, West Cliff Road, not far from the town centre. It has a rather rambling interior with the main seating area raised above the bar floor and a basement seating area too. Glorious stained glass street windows. 6 handpumps on the bar counter enhanced to make 9 in 2022.
