We were dropped off by coach outside this pub and came here to have a pint or two and 'phone for a taxi. Wet sales only this evening so no problem finding a table.

My first visit since refurbishment. Different to what I've been used to but pleased to see a similar layout plus a better range of beers. Late evening Saturday the busiest I've ever seen this pub.

This pub reopened yesterday after a short closure for a refit and branding as a Marston's Generous George pub. The two banks of handpumps have been moved to become one bank of six pumps in a prominent position on the corner of the bar. A tempting display of ice creams made these look almost irresistible. Lots of staff on duty today all of whom seemed to be very keen and enthusiastic.
