The pub is found in Lewisham, Greater London, SE13 6AA.

In the street market area of Lewisham High Street, a pub that has had many names, most recently The Market Tavern. After a long period of closure, renovated to open on 23rd November 2017 and named after a previous occupant whose name was uncovered on the front fascia signage during building works. Typical Antic Group shabby chic decor and furnishings including the middle of the floor occupied by some old radiograms. Wooden tiled floor throughout and mainly bare brick walls. The bar counter top is made from snooker table slate with the corner pockets clearly identifiable. Kitchen and food to be added in 2019 (promises, promises) and eventually fulfilled by a weekend pop-up kitchen facility which then ceased, after some months, in December 2019 then a new operator surfaced in late January 2020. 5 handpumps. Closed about the time of the Covid-19 pandemic start and subsequently all furnishings and bar counters removed.

We have visited this pub 119 times, seen 138 different beers and tried 94 of them.
