1830. Hot-foot from the best bar in Canterbury to the best pub in Maidstone, and in the chair for another session. Very busy tonite with a private party in the front bar. The ales were good and the other two League of Gentleman turned up later to make the evening complete...
BeerABVScoreNotes
Theakston - Old Peculier5.60ExceptionalA top class big un'. Pedro and myself are intent on consuming all of this excellent ale. Could this ale be described as "legendary"? It seems to have been around for an awful long time!
Kent - Pale4.00ExceptionalAnother top ale in a league of it's own.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentVery refreshing.
Goacher's - Gold Star5.10ExcellentOn good form tonite.
Wantsum - Black Prince3.90ExcellentA top ale.
Kent - Twelfth Night7.40ExcellentHaving been forewarned by txt from Pedro that this was on, I went straight for it on arrival. A decent effort too. A Dark type barley wine with fairly rich flavours, not too sickly sweet like others. I only gave it a 4*, because it wasn't that special that I wanted another.
