The pub is found in Bethnal Green, Greater London, E2 9BU.
This little pub in Cambridge Heath Road was present by 1800 and historically was owned by Truman’s Brewery. From 1858 to 1889 it was licensed for music and dancing, in a hall to the rear which had seating for 120 and at other times served as a billiards hall. Rather more modest in size today, the interior was redesigned in 2008 to make better use of space in its modern, all-one-bar layout. Pool table at rear. For many years this pub has been known for its weekend live jazz sessions. Made its debut Good Beer Guide appearance in 2013. Look for the little relief of a hare above the door. There are four handpumps on the bar counter.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 5 different beers and tried 3 of them.
