Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

LeighExceptional12 May 2009 Very nice dark mild, full of black chocolate and port-like flavours. Strong, however - proceed with caution. Very light for it's abv and style, and far superior to the bottled version.

IanGood27 Dec 2009 One of my favourite dark beers.
IanGood25 Apr 2007 Requisite chocciness with decent malts and makes it a tasty drinkable premium bitter.
IanPoor31 Jan 2006 Deep ruby with thick lasting beige head. Some choc malts, some burntness. Aroma is a bit nasty. Bit thin in mouth. Poor effort at this beer. Is this the W&D influence?
IanPoor05 May 2005 Dark ruby colour. Thin chocolate malt on nose. Needed to be changed, tasted like it had been on for about a week.
IanGood30 Apr 2005 Good malty chocolate/coffee flavours. Good strong malty ale
IanExceptional03 Apr 2005 Dark brown, Malty nose, roast malt and chocolate/coffee flavours. Stunning. The intensity of the flavours make this a must
