Lunchtime visit, we were made very welcome and had a good chat with the governor and locals alike. A train guard had never seen a South Eastern 3 day Kent Rover ticket before and was impressed by the fact that one of our group had managed to purchase one.

Sunday lunchtime and the banter was excellent. Best visit to this pub so far for me. Homemade cheese straws and sausage rolls on the tables.

Evening until close. One can not avoid conversation here so I never managed to start reading the pub's latest copy of Private Eye (beyond the front cover).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kent - Firestarter4.90ExcellentInitially a very smoked beer smell and taste but this quickly dissipates to a nice bitter. A Marmite pint I guess - hated it at first then ordered a second!

Evening. Bit of a photocall event tonight with masses of yellow shirted "Tour de Sandwich" cyclists. There was a huge premium tonight to having a large front opening window for comfort in the swelt.

Lunchtime visit and all tables occupied. I enjoyed it in here and stayed for an extra pint, and noted with amusement that one gentleman drank up in order to catch the eight minutes past, the ordered another one because he didn't say which eight minutes past.
