From early doors to late afternoon, this pub has received some internal decoration since my last visit. Ray made us very welcome as usual and it was pleasing to see the pub very busy indeed.

This pub has had an external facelift since my last visit, but the interior has not been touched. A large group of us met for a social afternoon and enjoyed some complimentary nibbles along with our ales.

Early afternoon, a bit chilly outside and the log fire was consuming wood at a very fast rate. Surprisingly only one beer on this afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodSeemed to get better with every pint.

A good crowd of people in here today, We sat at the rear of the pub and enjoyed a few plates of complimentary chips, spring rolls, and garlic bread.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fyne - Jarl3.80ExcellentSuperb, I had several of these.
Swannay (formerly Highland) - Dark Munro4.00ExcellentThis replaced the Guilt Complex which ran out, absolutely superb, good crisp chocolate malt. Most enjoyable.
Brains - Le Peloton4.00GoodIf I had realised that this ale is infused with honey I would not have bought it, far too sweet for my liking but a very well kept pint.
Surrey Hills - Gilt Complex4.60AcceptableThe last one from the cask, and the landlord offered to change it if it was not alright. I have not had this ale before so I was unable to judge it against any previous pint. Very strong citrus flavours.

Delightful, it was early afternoon on a Saturday, there had been a power cut since about 9am, so we had candle lighting, coal fire, no television, no music, and no chips. The lights came on about 4pm, the television screens came back to life and the pub became very busy.

Sunday afternoon, fairly quiet at first, but became very busy later in the afternoon. There were a number of beers served by gravity from a stillage in the bar, and several on handpumps. I did not make a note of all the beers on offer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
