12:30 visit. Having hooked up with two chaps from Manchester, who both kindly came to Liverpool today to show me a few pubs, this was our first port of call for this mini-crawl! Over a hundred years old, with it's blue tiled exterior, and found in the merchant quarter. Impressive place from my point of view. Apparently, it's been a good rocking pub for quite a few decades and has a top reputation. I could have a good night in here. Alas, at this time though, just the three of us in, plus some staff, and some decent music blasting out, and the ales were pretty good too! A current 2013 gbg entry and 21 times previous in 1976/85/90/3-2000/3-12.

I must admit that this is not my favourite pub. Aroma of bleach as I entered and there was a worrying character to the rear of the pub. However, beer line up was pretty impressive.
