Second of our pubs today and we were waiting outside for a few minutes for the chef to open up. Impressive unspoilt interior and glazing.

Sunday mid afternoon - full up with late diners so we sat outside. First new pub for me for over a month I think - must try harder.
BeerABVScoreNotes

When I got there I was met with a reasonable busy pub but no sooner had I ordered a drink the bar became full of knowledgeable people who had turned up for one of their ever so popular quiz nights. Apparently the adverts in Time Out our working wonders. At only £2 per person, the money generated from accompanying meals and bar takings must be quite considerable.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Great Yorkshire (see also Cropton) - Top of the Hops 20144.50GoodGood Golden Ale, but not quite good enough for a second.

Nice pub, very busy this evening – we did not get beyond the nearest point of the bar counter to the entrance.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Lancaster - Blueberry Ale4.30GoodSubtle this is not. Strongly fruity – but after the initial shock it grew on me.

Comfortably busy in the early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Explorer4.30AcceptableA bit disappointing; over-chilled and a bit thin-tasting. Perfumed hop taste and a dry, spiciness just about showing through. Can be much better than this.

A very pleasant Grade II listed pub, tucked away in Noel Road, a side street, near to the Regent’s Canal. The pub is divided into three spaces arranged around a central bar. Built in 1851, it retains some fine late-Victorian features including nice glasswork and mirrors, woodwork and a high Lincrusta ceiling. There are a few pavement tables at the front. Refurbished in 2023.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 6 of them.
