Visits Details

10 Feb 2018 (Stephen Harris)
There is a gradual movement of our group (now around 35-strong) to this pub either side of noon. There are no other customers at this time and our bar-filling arrival seems to surprise the staff.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Evening until 11pm close. No one in when I entered and felt as if it was about to be locked up early but served me and had a good chat too.

I moved here when the Harp became unbearably crowded although it is hardly less busy in here. Spent most of my time wondering whether I had ever been here before concluded that I probably had not.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Portobello - Star4.30ExcellentIn excellent nick but at £4.25 pp this is dubious value for money given other lower priced local haunts. Left my taste buds smarting

Evening. Rather spartan venue but I had heard that the beer was in good condition and that it was. But at £3.95 pp for a 3.7%er that could rail against a future Good Beer Guide entry I should have thought.

Upstairs "secret" lounge. Popular for Thai food. There are 5 handpumps. Has recently shown a rejuvenated interest in its real ale offerings.
