Very busy evening visit, the first of now four Micropubs to open ion the island, often hit and miss where beer quality is concerned but now the only pub left in the area called Halfway, beer quarter today was very good, not the most wonderful range of ales available but what there is in offer is kept and served very well.

Not feeling very comfortable in the Harps Inn, I took a stroll down the road to see if the Halfway House was any better and, lo and behold, up pops an unexpected micro-pub. Sorted. I stayed here for a pleasant hour in the early afternoon.

Evening. A bus journey of exploration to the Island. Fortunately others guided me to this haven. Friendly welcome and brief cellar tour. Immaculate unisex loo. Upon leaving we were bombarded with buses in both directions (to Sheerness).

My first visit here, we were probably outnumbered by females so lots of friendly banter about whether the toilet seat should be left up or down.

The pub is found in Halfway (Sheppey), Kent, ME12 3JE.

The Isle of Sheppey's first micropub located in Minster Road. A former Post Office now converted to a real ale and cider haven where conversation is King. Opened on Friday 24th January 2014 and to allcomers the following day. A welcome addition to the real ale scene in the area. Beers and ciders are sold on gravity dispense using cooled jackets on stillage in a room behind the bar. Seating is on 2 levels. The landlady Margaret has family ties to the Charrington's brewing dynasty and consequently Charrington's artefacts are on show throughout - any donations of more would be gratefully accepted.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 16 different beers and tried 8 of them.
