Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70GoodA pretty good, dry, darkish Bitter. Is it my imagination, or has this beer improved of late?

11:00 First stop on one of my regular group crawls assessing pubs for their suitability for inclusion on the CAMRA Heritage website. Only one of the two doors was open and we were greeted by "How did you get in". It had been left unlocked by one of the staff who had popped out. We initially had the pub to ourselves, two regulars came in just before we left.

Quiet on an early Monday evening. A cosy little pub. I read a recent review that described a pub as being “so off-trend that it still has carpet on the floor”; that could apply nicely to the slightly tatty interior here. The clientele did not tonight include any recognisable royalty from the nearby palaces.

Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70GoodA particularly mellow and sulphurous pint of Adnams Bitter.

The pub is found in Westminster, Central London, SW1Y 6PP.

A small pub in an alleyway setting, Crown Passage, dating from 1861. The leaded windows and wood-panelled interior are thought to date from the 1930s. Formerly two bars, now knocked through to one, plus an upstairs lounge. For gents, the precipitous descent to the cellar toilets is not for the faint-hearted.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
