Just somewhere near my hotel. They've put effort into the interior: shiny wood, shiny brass... an exposed brick wall overlaid with row of tall, round-topped mirrors suggestive of a kind of hipster cathedral. Echoey. Some kind of soft rock playing. Note something bluesy. Anyway, that was my visit

Big Penny (formerly Truman's) as of late 2022 contract brewed - Pale Ale4.10AcceptableA trendy, craft-beery little number. Slightly mellower hoppiness than I was expecting. Dry as lager. Not bad as a one-off.

Evening. Nice enough atmosphere with friendly staff. Music too loud for those having conversations. Huge double smoked pork ribs delivered to one customer were VERY tempting but the kitchen had just closed.
