Got a soaking walking here from spoons. Tiny micro, 4 beers on, all beers around £4 a pint. Full with 13 punters.

Busy as expected for a Saturday afternoon however we perched on a free bench seat which suited our quick stay in this epitome of a micropub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Potbelly - A Piggin' IPA4.00ExcellentThis beer has 3 light hops, including Simcoe, and a generous finish of Citra right at the end, leading to a light hoppy taste, and a lovely lingering finish.

What an absolute gem. Winner of CAMRA Wellingborough Town Pub of the Year 2022. 5 hand pumps, regularly changing selection of traditional beers, with a porter and/or stout regularly available. Very friendly locals and landlord, landlady.

17:10 Final micropub of the day and the best of the lot. Half a dozen regulars and the Guvnor. We were immediately engaged in conversation. Tremendous atmosphere. I democratically put all five of our peas into the jar of my choice. One of the customers asked me to score the beer on What Pub. Not something that has often happened to me.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Nene Valley - Best Bitter4.10GoodI was corrected on my pronunciation of the brewery name I said Nene the Guvnor said it was Nen. The border of the river name change is said to be Thrapston, I countered that as my mother came from Oundle I was equally right. Agreement was reached.

The pub is found in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, NN8 4JU.

This is the epitome of a micropub. In High Street, a tiny room in a converted shop that can hold 30 at a maximum. The size and layout makes conversation with strangers inevitable. The Guvnor lets customers choose forthcoming ales by giving them a dried pea with every pint bought and three labelled jars into which one of them the pea is placed to indicate the chosen beer.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 3 of them.
