Pillars - Vienna Berry Smash5.30GoodFrom keg dispense. Reddish in colour. Berry fruit and just a touch of sourness.

A good crowd here on a Friday evening. Despite selling only keg lager, we noted two former East London CAMRA chairman (OK, I was one of them) and a holder of a CAMRA ‘Commitment to Real Ale’ award amongst the crowd. A home-brewed Pilsner was also on sale.

I was very impressed with the set up here. Not busy on second weekend of opening, word of mouth not yet filling the tables.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pillars - Untraditional Lager4.50ExceptionalOn keg dispense. Pale gold and untraditional indeed. A superb, hoppy beer. This is really good and definitely in my top 10 beers of 2016.
Pillars - Amarillo Fest5.60ExcellentOn keg dispense. I’m not usually much of a fan of Oktoberfest beers, but in this one the caramel flavours are offset by some very good hop tastes. Really good.

The pub is found in Walthamstow, Greater London, E17 9HQ.

An impressive new brewery in Walthamstow, located on the same industrial estate as Wild Card and opened in late October 2016. It is unrepentantly a ‘Lager Brewery’ and not expected to produce any cask beer anytime soon. At weekends a bar opens and tables are set out amongst the brewing equipment.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 4 different beers and tried them all.
