Martin the Mildman | | 29 Oct 2009 | Full bodied modern style porter, with good hop character and toffee and roast malt flavours. My score 16/20. |

Blair | | 24 Oct 2009 | Hmmm, for a dark star beer this really is disappointing. Served a little too cold which didn't help it's cause. But just not enough flavour. A little roasted malt was about all I could taste. Pleasant, but I've come to expect better. Shows how good Dark Star is when I find a beer disappointing yet still rate it as good. |

Dubbel | | 09 Oct 2009 | Chestnut brown porter, sweet, nutty, roasty and toasty but has always come up a little flat wherever I've had it. |

Conan the Librarian | | 30 Jan 2009 | Don't know if this was the 'barrel' that was tapped for me Tuesday, but if so just goes to show Martyn knows how to keep beer in excellent condition |
Blair | | 30 Jan 2009 | Fantastic porter. Rich chocolate flavour with a little smokiness. The strength did get to me after a couple though. |

Mick | | 19 Dec 2008 | Nice, with malt, roast malt and chocolate but not exceptional. |
Blair | | 29 Mar 2008 | Lovely porter, fruity with chocolate and toffee. Still never had a Dark Star beer I haven't loved. |

Ian | | 09 Nov 2006 | Now badged simply as Dark Star Porter, but with the same ABV. Deep ruby, dark brown colour with thin bubbly beige head. Full rounded porter, quite juicy. Drying hop on end. Some liquorice. Dark malt and liquorice/molasses aroma. Very mild flavours though. Warming in mouth, quite juicy, dark fruits, damsons before a coffee mocha finish with a bit of powder. Quite difficult to pin down as a porter, juicy dark fruit rather than coffee/choc. Some sourness in mid palate, bit of vinous fruit. |

Ian | | 21 Oct 2005 | Dark chestnut with dark malt flavours and choc/coffee. Intense flavours in mouth. Nice richness with some acid to balance. Finish is good too with more choc and some liquorice. Hops on nose and finish. Yet another good beer from Dark Star |
