These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 14 Jun 2025 | This bitter is still produced by Tatton Brewery, and badged as such, and whose beers I do not recall trying before. But it ceased brewing north-east of Knutsford and south-west of Manchester after some 14 years due to no longer being able to sustain its operating costs. It has joined forces from June 2024 with Kent-based brewery, Wantsum, at St Nicholas-at-Wade, south-west of Birchington-on-Sea. This best bitter came with very good head and lacing and lasting throughout my half sampled. A moreishly dry bitter first hit. A pleasant maltiness rising up and lingering with the odd hoppy note thrown in for good measure. |
