Stephen Harris | 25 Jan 2017 | - From an old fashioned keg I think, although pretty much untroubled by carbonation. This is not an Old Ale under any definition I am familiar with. I’d call it a Barley Wine. Dark amber in colour. It has obvious alcohol strength and is a warming beer. There is a touch of sticky toffee sweetness. And on top of everything there is a woodiness from oak barrel-aging. Definitely a sipping beer. |
