Hogan Sampling		15 Oct 2026	1st beer of this visit: Head and lacing at the start as now its fourth day on, on this golden-coloured green hop pale from brewing launched in 2010, in setting up a ten-barrel copper plant in the Birling parish, sitting near West Malling in Kent. A very dry hoppy first hit on Green Manalishi and where they first boiled the copper for it in 2020 to commemorate the passing of the guitar gaffer, Peter Green, of the original Fleetwood Mac band. A virgin hop freshness and none too fruity emerging from three classic British green varieties in the copper kettle, East Kent Goldings, Challenger, and Fuggles. East Kent Goldings lending notes of wild lavender, honey, and garden thyme, Challenger aiding a sharp bitterness, and Fuggles brings lending a woody, earthy herbal flavouring. Fresh, leafy green flavours for me and zesty citrus along with a herbal-bitter punch that cuts clean through the grain. English Maris Otter and a touch of light Caramel malt providing a sweet and bready biscuit base, while the Caramel malt lending a gentle dollop of rich toffee sweetness. A dry berry-kissed fruity dry hoppiness lingering before sliding down my hatch. Served in good condition and very moreish.
