Hogan Sampling |  | 04 Apr 2025 | Fresh on and came with good head and lacing on this bitter from Penryn in Cornwall. A very dry first hit. A bitterish mouthfeel followed and though a mention of toffee and a biscuity finish, it held a dry and not sweet aftertaste. |

McGargle |  | 17 May 2024 | I have had more than enough ill defined hazy, juicy bangers or stouts that taste of anything but stout. Then this came along.
It's good to see our more adventurous brewers revisiting our brewing heritage and this was a classic Best Bitter. Prefectly served with a lasting head this was symphony of British hops and malt. If all cask reached these heights it wouldn't be in terminal decline. Might have to go back tonight. |
