| Hogan Sampling | | 08 Aug 2026 | Presented with very good head and lasting lacing on this session pale ale from the 1994-launched brewery at Rock on the north coast of Cornwall and which grew out of trialling home-brewing methods inside the founder, Bill Sharp’s personal garage in Rock. The business was sold to the multinational brewing giant, Molson Coors, in 2011 and where the UK headquarters are located in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, but with Twin Coast Session Pale Ale exclusively brewed still at Sharp's Brewery in Rock, Cornwall. A hoppy first hit on this pale-gold coloured ale. A dry fruitiness rising. A hint of citrus veering up from being twin dry-hopped with a vibrant burst of US citrus hops most likely to be Cascade behind its grapefruit zest and floral flavours, Citra lending a punch of juicy tropical fruit, lime and orange citrus, and Centennial/Chinook adding a crisp, resinous pine undertone. A gentle hoppy bitterness prevailing in its slide downwards accompanied by its juicy fruitiness. Served in top form. |
