Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan SamplingExcellent08 Feb 2025 A superbly creamy head on this Maldon-based porter and holding its head and lacing well. A very malty first hit. Was not in the least sweet as darker ales can tend to be with just the merest hint of coffee and chocolate. A moreish dryness and maltiness lingering.

Hogan SamplingGood31 Jan 2025 One of the smallest of tasters on record for me. It was though enough to have a good swish of this Maldon porter and detect the sweet chocolatey malt in it which persuaded me not to have a half of it afterall.

Hogan SamplingGood30 Nov 2024 A head and lacing to begin with but soon disappeared. A dry first hit with the merest hint of chocolate in this porter with a malty aftertaste.
