These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 17 Jan 2026 | Very good head and lacing and lasting on what for me tasted like a liquid version of a packet of smoky bacon crisps. A smoky first growl for sure! A slightly sweetened bacon flavour pouncing up with cinder toffee, caramel and biscuity notes clawing my somewhat startled taste buds. A maltiness shining through from its Beechwood-smoked German malt. Its hoppy bitterness and peppery characteristics emerging from its 100% home-grown Farnham White Bine hops before shuffling downwards. This is the Tongham-based brewery's Christmas amber-coloured ale. Located between Guildford and Farnham, this family-owned Surrey brewery opened in 1992 and grows its own hops on Manor Farm. |
