| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 21 Mar 2026 | Came with very good head and lacing and lasting on this classic English-style porter, as it was described, and said to be the first porter released by Indie Rabble Brewing Company* and launched in November 2025. A dry hoppy first bite. A bitter fruitiness rising with a hint of raisins coming at me and the odd date and fig landing on my taste buds. Subtle smoky toasted flavours leaping up but I did not need to blow its fire out. A dry coffee-infused and dark chocolatey malty bitterness sailing out with the odd biscuit bobbing up and down for good measure. Perfectly palatable as served in good nick. £6.25 a pint but if you try this as a third and two other thirds of similar strength, you could end up paying £7.35 in total. *Indie Rabble Brewing Company is described as an award-winning independent microbrewery and taproom. It is located in Alma Road, Windsor, and founded in 2023 by the same team behind the acclaimed beer venue, A Hoppy Place, in Windsor, and from June 2022 in Maidenhead. Indie Rabble is next-door neighbours of the Two Flints Brewery and close to Windsor & Eton Brewery and Uprising Brewery, all also on the same Windsor Beer Mile as it is known. The latter is referred to as a modern craft beer brand, originally starting as a "cuckoo brewer" and sharing facilities with Windsor & Eton Brewery. Uprising has since become a dedicated brand at Windsor & Eton. |
