Hogan Sampling		25 Jul 2026	Very good head and lacing and sticking all the way on this American Brown Ale from the 2009-launched Buxton-based brewery in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District. The name of this brown ale is inspired by the Texan Prairie lands. A malty coffee-infused caramelly sweetness on its first hit. A dry bitter maltiness rising. A fruity hoppiness joining in with flavours of pine, earthy spice and vibrant red berries from its blend of Willamette, Liberty, Mount Hood and Crystal hop varieties, all native to the United States. A malty biscuity sweetness lingering derived from its four distinct malts aiding its brown-tinged colour and caramel notes and a charred, roasty nuttiness for my taste buddies. Although the malts are not detailed, they are likely to be a mixture of Pale Ale/Maris Otter Barley, Crystal/Caramel Malts, Chocolate Malt and Toasted or Lightly Roasted Malt for example Munich or Amber Malt. Served in top nick with great conditioning and mouthfeel.
