Ian | 11 Oct 2007 | Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Clear copper with thick head. Raspberry and hop aroma. Smooth is a little watery in mouth. And served too cold. Then a good aggressive herby hop on the finish. This is how I remember Harviestoun beers being like. Good easy drinking hoppy beers. Particularly the hoppy finish. Just needs a bit more body to be very good. And then I asked for the sparkler to be taken off for the second pint. My god, what a difference. Suddenly more herby hop on aroma. Still a little watery in mouth but the stinging finishing hop is a lot more characterful with better hop flavours and some sweaty sox. |
