Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

IanGood21 Apr 2009 Cask condition lager through a handpull is a bit of an oddity, but I do like this beer. Really quite hoppy on finish. I found it very more-ish, even a bit shandyish I suppose.
IanAcceptable31 Oct 2005 Dark copper colour. Thin off white bubbly head. Lager hop aroma, bit of earthiness. Hoppy bite as soon as you taste it. Fades a bit towards the end, which is a little disappointing. OK body for a lager

DubbelGood20 Apr 2009 An old JDW imported favourite from Bavaria. Bottom fermented and oak matured. Clean tasting and brew quality shows through as do the unusual hops.

St Georgenbrau Kellerbier

4.90% ABV.

We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a s.

We have tried this beer 3 times.

We have given this beer an average score of Acceptable to Good.
