Monday afternoon visit. At last a pub on this holiday worthy of an entry on this site. Modernised Victorian railway waiting rooms - originally for 1st class ticket holders only, I was told. Retains high ceilings, dark polished wood and comfortable leather horseshoe shaped seating. Long bar with 12 hand pumps. Separate quiet room in a similar style to one side.

15:45 Only one person behind the bar so service was rather slow. Bar has a door directly opening on to the platform. Rather strange as ticket checks were taking place at the station entrances.
