I was originally put off by the matt black exterior which seems to be popular around here and the abundance of A boards advertising breakfasts and other things that I did not want, however the one thing that got me in here was the fact that one of the A boards mentioned that the pub had been in the Maloney family for over fifty years so that convinced me to enter. I would call this a proper Irish pub of the type that used to be common around here with no pretentiousness, just catering for the London Irish community and others who just want a decent pub. I was impressed to see that just about all the customers returned their glasses (and dinner plates etc.) to the bar when they left, obviously well trained customers. I liked this pub and was glad that I went in.
The pub is found in Camden Town, Central London, NW1 7BU.
Street corner Victorian pub, it is a listed building with high ceilings with some original tiling and mosaics. The shopfront is painted matt black whilst the upper levels are of red brick with some terracotta panels.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
