I was originally put off by the matt black exterior which seems to be popular around here and the abundance of A boards advertising breakfasts and other things that I did not want, however the one thing that got me in here was the fact that one of the A boards mentioned that the pub had been in the Maloney family for over fifty years so that convinced me to enter. I would call this a proper Irish pub of the type that used to be common around here with no pretentiousness, just catering for the London Irish community and others who just want a decent pub. I was impressed to see that just about all the customers returned their glasses (and dinner plates etc.) to the bar when they left, obviously well trained customers. I liked this pub and was glad that I went in.
