|---|---|---|---|
| Goldmark - Wahwah IPA | 5.00 | ![]() | 1st beer of this visit: This hazy American IPA from an independent, multi-award-winning microbrewery based in Arundel, West Sussex, and crafting beers since 2013, had some head and lacing but not lasting. A sweetish hoppy first hit. A fruitiness rising and accompanied by strong hop aromas from the double dry-hopping process. A dry hoppiness prevailing from Citra, Columbus, Azacca and Centennial and where the use of the Chinook hop is added in some batches to give it that extra "bite" and here quite likely as evident to my taste buds before its downwards journey. Palatable but overly fruited for me! |
| Lakedown - Kicking Donkey Best Bitter | 4.20 | ![]() | 3rd beer of this visit: Good head and lacing lasting all the way on this East Sussex best bitter from the independent, family-run brewery and taproom located in the scenic Wealden valley at Burwash, east of Robertsbridge. A fruity bittered first hit. A dry bitterness winning through with a biscuity maltiness from its blend of 7 different grains. A fruity hoppiness pervading from its three British varieties: UK Pioneer, UK-grown Cascade and Jester, and lasting in its passage out. In good condition and very quaffable. |
| Lost Pier - Lost in Strata | 4.50 | ![]() | 2nd beer of this visit: This New England hazy pale from the independent craft brewery based in Sussex, and while they originated in Brighton from 2017, their main production and current taproom are located in Burgess Hill, presented good head and lacing and lasting. A fruited first hit with hints of pineapple and orange. A dry hoppiness leaping up with a slice of caramel flavouring. A tropical fruited note winning over from its passionfruit, emanating from its Strata hops aiding a rising zestiness. Certainly a good fruitiness lingering before saddling out. Served in peak condition. |

The pub is found in Worthing, West Sussex, BN11 3BG.
In Montague this is the second incarnation of this micropub after its first one closed elsewhere in Worthing. It re-opened in March 2024 in a new location which is still close to the town centre. It has a new purpose-built cold room with stillage and all ales are served directly from the cask.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
