Late afternoon and the busiest pub by far with folk everywhere. The hubbub of conversation drowned out the soft background music however the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere was destroyed by a couple of screaming deafening children which reaffirmed my realisation that nowhere is sacred from this nonsense.

I came here twice today - for lunch with my brother and nephew and again in the early evening for a couple of beers with a friend. I think it would be fair to say that at lunchtime they were struggling - understaffed ahead of a well-attended football match at Cambridge United.

19:00 A change of management. Jethro has taken a back seat and the young couple from the Norwich White Lion are now running it. Much improved choice of beer. Over the years this place has gone from being a traditional pub to having the feel of a cafe bar. Shame.

The pub is found in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB1 2LG.
Traditional back street (in a narrow street of terraced houses) community pub in Gwydir Street which has been in the GBG regularly over the last few years. A house beer and many local and guest beers feature as well as twice yearly beer festivals. Good home cooked food available. 14 handpumps sported on the bar and additional beers as well as cider are collected from the cellar.
We have visited this pub 24 times, seen 125 different beers and tried 51 of them.
