Late afternoon visit after local chores. Great approach route up the steep stairs from main road. Packed inside, got last seat. Saw others come and leave due to lack of seating. The 20% CAMRA discount made the visit reasonably priced.

Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10ExcellentTop form but at £5.40 pp, before discount, one expects nectar
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Gale's HSB4.80Not TriedDid not try but another customer sitting by me sent his back. I had a taster and it had a sickly caramel flavour. Swapped with good grace but not taken off sale. Staff at bar tried to say it was not a bitter! At least he had it replaced

Evening. Always struck by the steep ascent of steps from the main road to get here then the atmospheric immediate approach.

Mid afternoon. A few sitting outside but only three other people in the pub. Sat in the settle in the left had room. Very pleasant. Suspect very much busier when food is being served. Reserved signs had been placed on a number of tables.

Busy with food trade, and a few people sitting at the bar. When I first came here it was gas lit, but this has now been replaced with electric lighting.
