Just after lunchtime opening busy in the left side bar so we occupied the empty small room along the corridor. Top marks to the purple rinse barmaid 'you want a pint of crap then'.

Evening. Has to be visited periodically just to remind oneself how a traditional Black Country boozer can be. A pint of bitter, a pork pie with home made chutney and a double handful sized cheese and onion cob roll for £4.95 - almost the archetypal change from a fiver for the tram home!
Batham - Best Bitter | 4.30 | | One to drown in |

Must be one of the most iconic pubs in the country. Lots of visitors, surprisingly reluctant to venture into the bar. Cracking pork pies.
Batham - Best Bitter | 4.30 | | Simply the best beer of its type. A traditional black country bitter, malty and bitter / sweet. Crystal clear, well presented, thin head, good body, perfectly balanced. Absolutely superb. |
Batham - Mild Ale | 3.50 | | Easy going mild with outstanding flavours. |

I just love this place, it is everything a pub should be. We visited early on a Thursday evening and enjoyed a pre-booked faggots and peas supper which was washed down with several pints of good ale.
