Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Triple fff - Ramble Tamble (previously 4.6%) | 5.00 | Silly name, but this American Pale ale was for me, the beer of the festival, and was selling well. Complex, with a hit of New World hops,it put us Kentish boys in our place. | |
Triple fff - Alton's Pride | 3.80 | A good honest session bitter, with a decent handful of hops."like Masterbrew, but more so". I like that. | |
Acorn - Old Moor Porter | 4.40 | Initially I thought this was from the elusive Moor Brewery, but even if it was from Yorkshire, this was an excellent malty, liquoricy dark porter, and selling well. | |
Acorn - Barnsley Bitter | 3.80 | Not sure if this resembles the Barnsley Bitter of Yorkshire pride and mythology, but a good amber session beer. | |
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Easy Rider | 4.30 | Not Tried | Sold out-damn it! |

The Beer Festival is found in Smarden, Kent, TN27 8QD.
Archetypal village beer festival in the car park of the Flyer. I dusted off the family pushbike and wobbled down. Plenty of old familiar faces.
We have visited this Beer Festival once, seen 5 different beers and tried 4 of them.
