6pm diners pouring in. The ale selection is just Harvey’s Best - so has clearly changed since Pip and Magnus visited. Black beams with white walls and ceiling’s throughout, but done in a way that reminded me of Berni Inns. Prawn cocktail, gammon and Black Forest gateau surely on the menu?

Over 30 of us poured off our bus all wanted Harvey's thus a new cask was promptly instilled after we'd drained the previous dry.

A pub of this size can easily absorb a large crowd disgorged from a bus. However as every real ale drinker wanted Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter from the one handpump it made for some delayed serving worsened when the cask ran out. Ho hum we were all watered in the end so no damage,

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentSoon ran out on this cask after I had ordered. New cask pulled through and distinct brewery hopstore smells wafted through the pub as the cellarman tapped another cask
Greene King - Morland Old Speckled Hen4.50Not TriedNone of our group touched the stuff

The pub is found in Normans Bay, Pevensey, East Sussex, BN24 6QG.

Seemingly isolated pub at Normans Bay but not far from humanity really. The Star Inn is a classic English pub in the village of Normans' Bay, Pevensey. The pub has lots to offer all the family and is just a short distance from local towns Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings. The drinks menu boasts a wide selection of real ales, lagers and wines while the food menu includes the famous Star Inn Carvery with three succulent meats and various steamed vegetables. The large gardens are an ideal setting for those rare fair weather days. A river running through the grounds is home to resident ducks and swans and adds to the peaceful and tranquil setting. Children can be kept fully entertained with an inside games room consisting of computer games, rides and toy machines. Outside it has a large play area.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
