The pub is found in Plaistow, Greater London, E13 0AD.
A very long-established pub, that was described as ‘old’ in 1742 and may have been here for more than 600 years. Scene of the ‘Plaistow Riots’ of 1809, following Easter races between here and the nearby Greyhound pub. The pub was largely rebuilt in 1875 and today retains two separate bars, as well as various outbuildings, one of which houses a boxing gym. A Courage Brewery house in its day, there was for a while a cycle speedway track at the rear.
